BELOIT — West Branch’s baseball team braved the cold and the rain to dump Western Reserve Academy 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.
Hunter Shields had two hits and an RBI for the winners, 4-3. Garrison Martin added a hit and an RBI. Boston Mulinix had a double and an RBI.
West Branch is at Alliance on Tuesday.

HANOVERTON — United Local’s baseball didn’t have a great time in its 10-1 loss in five innings to Massillon Tuslaw on Saturday afternoon in the cold and rain.
Tyler Dickens, Brock Rhodes and Dante Rapp had hits for the Eagles, 2-4.

CANFIELD — West Branch’s softball team suffered its first loss of the season with a 10-4 defeat to Youngstown Ursuline on Sunday at the Strike Out Cancer event at McCune Park.
Ragan Greeneisen had three hits for the Warriors, 5-1. Matt Hawk added a double and single.
West Branch is at Canton South on Tuesday.
