OGDEN — More than 2,300 new graduates have been sent into the world — loosed on Weber County and the rest of Utah, anyway.

Weber State University held its fall 2022 commencement ceremonies on Friday, honoring 2,332 graduates who finished their studies in the summer and fall semesters. The varied Weber State colleges held ceremonies at a range of locations around the school’s Ogden campus.

“My time at Weber State was valuable for me to further my education and to meet new people, but I’m excited to graduate and start my next journey,” said Madilyn Gomm, a criminal justice major, in a Weber State press release.

The most popular majors at Weber State are nursing, computer science, professional sales, criminal justice and diagnostic medical sonography.

Weber State President Brad Mortensen said graduation is a special time. “I’m always so inspired when I see students reaching out their hand to receive that diploma. For our graduates, it’s years of hard work and transformation culminating in that moment,” he said. As the grads move on to the next stages of their lives, he went on, “remember your Weber State family is cheering for your success.”
