Winter Weather Warning issued for Sweetwater County

SWEETWATER COUNTY – There is snow along the way and it should reach Sweetwater County by Thursday morning, according to the United States National Weather Service (NWS).

The NWS has issued a winter weather warning for Sweetwater County, including Rock Springs, Green River, and Flaming Gorge. The consultation runs from Thursday, December 8, 5 a.m. to Friday, December 9, 5 a.m.

The snow build-up is still in the air as the storm hits Sweetwater County, according to NWS. However, they don’t expect Sweetwater County to receive more than 6 inches of snow.

“The heaviest snow is expected from Thursday noon to Thursday evening,” says the message.

Travelers can expect slippery road conditions and snowy areas as gusts of wind can reach speeds of up to 35 mph. The view can also be restricted at times.
