Smoke from forest fires in the western United States will continue to flood the region. The smoke can temporarily obstruct the view and lead to poor air quality, especially in the basins and valleys.

The Wyoming Department of Health recommends that the elderly, young children, and those with breathing difficulties avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during this time. Forest fire smoke is made up of a variety of pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, that can affect respiratory health. While these people are most susceptible to health effects, the Department of Health also recommends that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality conditions.
