Avalanche Reported Near Park City; State high risk

The Utah Avalanche Center reported a major avalanche near Park City on Saturday as the hazard ratings for the entire state were high.

According to the UAC, the avalanche hazard was high for Logan, Ogden, Uintas, Salt Lake, Provo, Skyline, Moab and Southwest Mountains. The Abajos in southeast Utah were of a remarkable standard.

The center reported on a major event in Scott’s Hill along the Park City ridge late Saturday morning.

“With a beautiful, sunny sky and so much fresh powder, today is ripe for accidents,” the UAC forecast. “Please don’t let all that fine powder tempt you to forget the dangers that lurk underneath.
