On Monday, game and fish inspectors and department staff will tour the staff housing project area in the South Park Wildlife Habitat Management Area (WHMA), the South Park Feedgrounds and an overview of the Commission’s Teton WHMA. Those interested should meet at the Lodge in Jackson Hole at 1 p.m. The public must provide their own means of transport. The tour is expected to last until 5pm

The main meeting of the commission starts on Tuesday around 2.45 p.m. The Commission will be asked to vote and tentatively approve the budget for the financial year 2022 and will elect a new President and a new Vice-President. Commissioners will also vote to approve the proposals for the 2021 hunting season and the Flaming Gorge Rapid Reaction Plan, which would be implemented if invasive bivalve molluscs were discovered in the reservoir.

Commissioners will also hear informative presentations and updates on a variety of topics, including the construction of the new Cody regional office, staff accommodation in Jackson, and current research, monitoring, management and conflict activities of the major carnivores in Wyoming. In addition, Game and Fish will make recommendations on the issuing of antelope licenses for one-shot antelope hunting and female antelope hunting.

Game and Fish will keep the commission updated on the Moose Feeding Department’s public engagement process. Game and Fish, along with Cody’s contracted presenter Tara Kuipers, recently completed Phase I of the ongoing effort and summarized the first phase of feedback in a report available on the Game and Fish Feedgrounds website. The Commission will be given an overview of the report and the implementation of Phase II by the department, which will include joint learning events and in-depth discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders. These efforts will help advance the development of a long-term management plan for elk feeding grounds for game and fish.

To participate through ZOOM, links to attend the meeting for each day are available on the Commission’s website. A telephone option is available. The full agenda with all presentations can be found on the Game and Fish website.
