George Jensen Obituary (1951 – 2022) – Taylorsville, UT

George Vernon Jensen peacefully passed away in his birthplace of Murray, Utah on the evening of May 7, 2022 at the age of 70, surrounded by his beloved family. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.
He was born on June 29, 1951 in Murray, Utah as the oldest of five sons to George E. Jensen and Betty Jacobson Jensen Redding. He was a natural athlete and excelled at baseball, basketball, fast-pitch softball, and volleyball. He spent much of his time working at the family mink ranch with his dad and his brothers. He married Ruth Webb in 1972 and had 7 children together. They were married for 28 years. In 1995, he moved to Vernal, Utah where he spent the remainder of his life.
George loved spending time with his family. He brought joy and laughter to others as he freely and frequently shared his most recently rehearsed “dad joke” with anyone who would listen. He will be remembered for his laughter, wit, and for his love, his generosity, and his loyalty to his family. This legacy of love and loyalty he established in life will be a continued blessing to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his 7 children; Becky (Breck) Sheffield, Shawn (Hilary), Greg (Heather), Jeremy (Jodie), Danny (Melanie), Melanie (Robert) Allred, and Brett (Dec). In addition, he is survived by his two younger brothers Steve and Jack (Cindy). He is loved by his 34 grandkids and 3 great-grandkids.
We know he is having an amazing reunion with his 2 younger brothers, Mike and Randy; his Parents; grandparents; and many other loved ones right now. We love you and look forward to a joyful reunion.
