On Wednesday, November 24th, 2021, Melissa Leeann Nix Dorius, beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend and dog mom died at the age of 39 from this life. Melissa was born on July 8, 1982 in El Paso, Texas to Ernie and Lisa Nix. She graduated from Tooele High School in 2000 and married Nathan Tyler Dorius on September 10, 2011. Melissa was a patient advocate and trainer at Myriad Genetics in Salt Lake City for 12 years.

Melissa was sensitive, empathetic, generous, and compassionate. Her work at Myriad has enabled her to help thousands of people and that has been very satisfying for her. She had an incredible sense of humor and made everyone who knew her laugh when she was around. She loved making beautiful things and goodies and giving them away. She loved her husband, her families, her dogs, Barbie, makeup, the color pink and glitter limitlessly.

Melissa preceded her little sister Whitney Erin, her grandpa Tolstedt, her grandma and grandpa Nix and her grandma and grandpa Nix in death. She leaves behind her loving husband Tyler and her dogs Chloe and Zoe, her parents Ernie and Lisa Nix, her brothers David (Marie) and Joey (Teri), her aunt Ally (Scott) Haw, her grandmother Sharon Tolstedt, and aunt Buffy (Greg ) Tolstedt, in-laws Richard and Mary Jo Dorius and their family as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held on Friday, December 10th at 1:00 p.m. at LDS chapel at 114 South 400 West in Orem, UT. Dedication of the grave at the East Lawn Memorial in Provo, UT after the memorial service. Many thanks from both families to the incredible medical staff in the shock / trauma intensive care unit of the Intermountain Medical Center for their skills, commitment and empathy in an extremely difficult time.
