Mona Rachel Bramwell chase

March 1, 1937 ~ June 14, 2021

Mona Rachel Bramwell Chase peacefully ended her secular journey on June 14, 2021. She eagerly returns to her Heavenly Father, parents, loving husband, and family and friends who have previously passed away.

Mona was born on March 1, 1937 in Ogden Utah to Clyde Howard and Rachel Burton Bramwell. She grew up in a loving home and enjoyed special relationships with her siblings. Mona has been blessed to have her sister and best friend Marie by her side almost all the time over the past year, and especially as she moved from one world to the next.

Mona married the love of her life, Donald Montgomery (Monty) Chase, on August 30, 1961. Their love was so deep that Mona followed Monty almost exactly a year after his death. They raised two wonderful children, Shelley and Scott, who were an integral part of their lives. The family was sealed in Logan Temple, a joyful opportunity for Mona to bring together her love for family and the faith.

Mona attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High in 1955. She then completed courses at the Stevens-Henager College School of Business. She worked for KLO Radio during these years, a memorable time in her life. Mona was excellent at writing, spelling, typing, abbreviations and business administration. After a hiatus to be the greatest home mom ever, she continued her skills during a hugely successful career at Ogden City Corp. a. She was honored to support several city guides and mayors. Her commitment, quality work and positive attitude were all missed when she retired.

Mona was a talented artist who could move people with her angelic singing and powerful poetry. Writing and reciting her own poetry enabled Mona to express her emotions and expand the influence of her voice. She was a beautiful pianist and enjoyed her years with the Thorns and Roses group, singing at important local events. Mona also loved photography, which mainly focused on her family and the beauty of nature.

Her family time was precious to her: camping, boating at Ogden Pineview Yacht Club, and supporting the many family activities and sporting events. Mona was a huge Utah Jazz and Weber State fan and later cheered her on from her chair as faithfully as the days in the stadium.

Mona’s faith and dedication in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been essential to her, a cornerstone in her life. She served as a Primary teacher, community librarian, and wherever needed for many years. Mona was the epitome of a loyal member of the Church. These teachings helped make her the extraordinary person she wanted to be every day with unshakable success. Mona embodied true, unconditional love. She lived with the word of the Lord every moment and made the world a better, kinder place for all.

The family would like to express their extreme thanks to Stoney, Melissa, Danielle, Teresa, Emily, Steve, Andy, Miriam, Angela, Mckayla, Victoria, Kenley, Stephanie, Tori and Jamie for their wonderful care last year after Monty passed. Also to the Malan Heights Ward for those who have visited and managed Mona on many occasions.

Mona leaves behind her two children Shelley Chase (Keith Sargent) and Scott (Kathy) Chase; her grandsons Aaron, Lindsey, Connelly, Chandler, and Christopher; She loved her many nieces and nephews; and her loving sister Marie Bullock.

In death, Mona precedes her husband, parents Rachel and Clyde Bramwell, brothers Dennis and David, sister Diane and their lovely stepchildren Kathy Ongley and Kirk Breitweiser.
