No injuries, $2 million in damages in massive southern Utah cabin fire

A person at a Kane County shack made it safely Sunday night after a massive fire pierced the tall building.

The Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District reported the fire on Facebook and stated the following:

Your CMFPD emergency team worked hard last night to put out this fire with the help of Valley FD, Glendale FD, Kanab Ambulance and your CMFPD Wildland crew. No injuries have been reported and everyone has done it safely. “

According to St. George News, the first call came just after 10 p.m. on Sunday. It took the crews four minutes to arrive, and by the time they got to the scene, the cabin was completely in flames. There was a woman inside.

Adam Scott, assistant fire protection officer for the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District, told St. George News:

She slept upstairs, heard a bang, and thought someone was trying to break in. She went downstairs and saw the flames and was able to go outside. “

The $ 2 million cabin is a total loss.

The cause of the fire as it is now is an “indefinite accidental” fire.
