October 1 data: Utah reports 11 COVID-19 deaths, 4 people between the ages of 25 and 44
SALZSEE-CITY (KUTV) –
In the new month of October, more Utahns were killed by COVID-19.
Of the eleven fatalities, four were between the ages of 25 and 44.
This means that more than 1,700 positive tests were reported for the third day in a row.
Of the 1,715 new cases, 362 are school-age children.
580 people are currently being treated for COVID-19 in Utah hospitals.
THE UDOH WILL REPORT THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY:
Positive:
- We will report 510,209 positive cases today. That’s an increase of 1,715 new cases since yesterday.
School-age cases:
- School-age children account for 362 of the newly reported cases today. As of yesterday, we will be reporting 172 cases in children aged 5 to 10 years, 94 cases in children aged 11 to 13 years and 96 cases in children aged 14 to 17 years.
Vaccinations:
- We will report 3,478,625 total doses administered. This is an increase of 6,924 doses since yesterday.
Vaccinated vs. unvaccinated risk ratio:
- In the past 28 days, unvaccinated people had a 5.9 times higher risk of dying from COVID-19, 7.3 times higher risk of being hospitalized for COVID-19, and a 6.5- times higher risk of testing positive for COVID-19 than vaccinated people.
- As of February 1, 2021, unvaccinated people have a 4.6 times higher risk of dying from COVID-19, 4.9 times higher risk of being hospitalized for COVID-19, and 4.1 – times the risk of testing positive for COVID-19 than vaccinated people.
Laboratory tests:
- We will report 3,464,316 people tested. This is an increase of 10,525 people tested since yesterday.
- We will report a total of 6,230,297 tests. This is an increase of 19,152 tests since yesterday.
Tendencies:
- The 7-day rolling average for positive tests is 1,360 per day.
- The 7-day rolling average for the percent positivity of “people over people” is 14.3%. The 7-day rolling average for percent positivity for “tests over tests” is 9.8%.
Hospital stays:
- There are currently 580 people in the hospital with COVID-19. The total number of hospital admissions since the outbreak began is 22,222.
Deaths:
We will report a total of 2,943 deaths, that’s 11 new deaths since yesterday.
- Male, between 45 and 64, residents of Davis County, hospitalized at death
- Female, aged 65 to 84, resident of Iron County, hospitalized at death
- Male, between 25 and 44, residents of Uintah County, hospitalized at the time of death
- Female, over 85 years of age, resident of Millard County, resident in long-term care facility
- Male, between 45 and 64, residents of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
- Female, between 25 and 44, resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at death
- Male, between 65 and 84, Utah County residents, hospitalized at death
- Male, older than 85, Utah County resident, hospitalized at death
- Female, between 25 and 44 years old, resident of Utah County, hospitalized at death
- Male, between 65 and 84, Weber County residents, hospitalized at death
- Male, between 25 and 44, residents of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
