Oral Alexander Grow, 92 from Orem, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at home in Orem. She was born on June 14, 1929 in Taber, Alberta, Canada to Everett Lamoni Chellus Alexander and Norma Pearl Hall Alexander. She attended schools in Vernal, Utah, until the family moved to Oakland, California, where she attended junior high and high schools. She was an honorary student throughout her school years and received a four-year PTA scholarship.

She met and married the love of a lifetime, Sterl Victor “Vic” Grow in Oakland, CA. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple were blessed with 7 children: Steven Victor, Revae Marvene, Von Alexander, Norman Leigh, Barry Lynn, Cecelia Jane, and Roger Rayhbuck.

She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different capacities. She has served as Relief Society general presidents, Primary directors, duty leaders, young women president at the ward and stake levels, genealogy teacher, director, and advisor to the girls’ camp. She served as a Relief Society counselor and stake Relief Society general secretary in the BYU Stake 10 for five years.

Her hobbies were sewing, reading, family get-togethers, reunions and traveling. She enjoyed temple service, genealogy, stories, and family albums. She will be remembered by her friends and family as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend.

Oral precedes her husband Vic, her parents, in death. She leaves behind two brothers: Norvel “Bud” (Jolene) Alexander, Marvin (Elain) Alexander. She also leaves her 7 children: Steven Victor (Crystal) Grow, Revae Marvene (James) Nelson, Von Alexander (Marlis) Grow, Norman Leigh (Jerry) Grow, Barry Lynn (Julee) Grow, Cecelia Jane (Merle) White, and Roger (Dantia) Rayhbuck; 38 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2021, 11:00 a.m. in the Aspen 3rd Ward, 828 W 1600 N, Orem. Family and friends can stop by the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The burial takes place in the Orem city cemetery. A live webcast of services will be available online at www.walkersanderson.com, where condolences and memories will also be shared with family.

The family thanks the medical staff for their great care over the past few months.
