Patricia “Patt” towers Cude | News, sports, jobs

March 11, 1937 – August 23, 2021

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Patricia “Patt” Spiers Cude, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 23, 2021 after a long illness. She was welcomed at the gates of heaven with loving arms and had a joyful reunion with her parents (George Albert Spiers & Ethel Jane Spiers), husband (Richard “Dick” Cude), sister (Gloria Dode Schwitzer) and brother (Larry W. Spiers), whom she missed very much and loved so much.

Patt was born on March 11, 1937, the youngest of three children to their parents George and Ethel Spiers. Although there were many years between her brother Larry and her sister Dode, she loved them dearly and they remained close throughout their years.

She attended Ogden High and graduated from Weber High in 1955. On August 4, 1956, Patt married her high school sweetheart Richard “Dick” Cude and had a wonderful wedding at Bertha Eccles Hall in Ogden. In 1979 her husband left this earthly world too early and Patt missed him very much for the rest of her life. During their marriage, they were blessed with two daughters, Julie Whittier and Lynda Allen.

Through her grandchildren she found true love on earth again. They were her pride and joy. Her face glowed with love and pride when she talked about her grandchildren. The grandchildren knew that they would always leave home with a little treat or a treat from grandma.

Patt worked for the IRS for many years before moving to Kona, Hawaii. While in Kona, Patt enjoyed managing Sunset Traders who were within walking distance of the beach. She lived in Hawaii for over twenty years. She hugged Hawaii and really loved living near the ocean and all the dear friends she made on the island. She moved back to Utah, but part of her heart always stayed in the beauty of Hawaii.

Patt was a truly stylish lady and eloquently dressed for every occasion. Patt was passionate, strong-willed, and independent and that stayed true to her until her last breath. She was known for her love of pink and shopping for good business. She loved going out for a cold drink, bite to eat, or grabbing a treat with the people she loved, but she really enjoyed it because of the good conversation.

She loved to bake cakes and make the best homemade sweets. She loved delivering her beautifully wrapped goodies to her friends during the holidays. She made Christmas special by making sure everyone had a delicious meal and everyone in the family had a filled stocking, no matter how old they were.

Patt leaves her beloved family; two daughters Julie Whittier and Lynda Allen, six grandchildren Alicia Garn (Zach Garn), Amanda Allen, Camille Cardon (Casey Cardon), Jeremy Whittier (Amber Whittier), Richard Allen and Joshua Whittier and seven great-grandchildren, Lyric & Cade Nelson, Calup & Courtney Cardon, Jacob & Reagan Garn, and Kash Whittier.

Family and friends are invited to visit family on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.

A funeral service will be held in Leavitt’s morgue on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
