ProAmpac opens new expansion plant in Ogden; create up to 40 new jobs
New York State officials and local authorities, as well as representatives from flexible packaging manufacturer ProAmpac, completed an expansion project at the company’s Ogden facility on Wednesday.
As WXXI News reported last September, ProAmpac is building a 25,000 square meter extension of its existing facility on Manitou Road. The expansion will create up to 40 new jobs.
The Collaboration & Innovation Center will focus on packaging development and design, and will also host regional and global packaging companies and vendors for events and training.
Cincinnati-based ProAmpac is investing $ 8 million in the center.
Empire State Development is providing a capital grant of $ 350,000 and up to $ 1 million through the Excelsior Jobs program in exchange for a job creation commitment.
The New York Power Authority is helping with inexpensive electricity, and there is support from Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise.
ProAmpac, based in Cincinnati, employs more than 5,800 people in 90 countries.
