Report: Luc Andrada Enters the Transfer Portal

According to Jacob Hatch from Locked on Cougars, dual-sport athlete Luc Andrada is said to have entered the transfer portal on Tuesday. Andrada signed with BYU as part of the 2019 signing class as an athlete – he would have been a Redshirt newcomer to BYU in 2021.

Andrada played quarterback at the high school level in Colorado and held a PWO offer from nearby Colorado State. At the end of the 2019 recruitment cycle, his 10.5 100m speed caught the attention of BYU wide receiver trainer Fesi Sitake. Sitake worked with the rail coach to get Andrada to Provo.

Andrada’s raw speed made him an exciting addition to the 2019 recruiting course. When he arrived in Provo, he was struggling to find a role at the wide receiver. He was transferred to running back last season but had a foot injury that limited his 2020 season.

It is important to remember that when entering the transfer portal, Andrada can only evaluate his options. Once they have arrived at the transfer portal, the athletes are allowed to contact other coaches at other schools. He could still return to BYU if it is the best decision for him and his family.
