Larry Stricker and his wife Nema have been ringing the Christmas bells in Mesquite for the Salvation Army for six years.

They can be in different places on different days. But you can always say it’s the Stricker’s because Larry will sing loud and clear with background karaoke music and a smile on his face. He sings Christmas carols, happy songs and even takes inquiries.

“I’m ringing the bells and singing to get more Salvation Army money,” Larry said. “I like to see the smiles on the happy faces of people who walk by.”
“By ringing this bell, we’re helping someone have a better Christmas,” added Nema.

The doorbell isn’t the only way Larry likes to share his musical talent. He said he regularly visits the Highland Manor care facility to sing for the people there.

The Stricker’s came to Mesquite from Vernal, Utah 14 years ago. They said they love the weather here.
