At Steve’s funeral in Provo, dozens of hot rods took part in the procession to Provo City Cemetery.

Steve was known for his love of cars, especially hot rods.

He spent his life building them.

Because of this, his coffin was carried in the back of a 1956 Ford F-100 – a truck he had built from scratch.

“He just loves building vehicles,” says his son Travis Whitlock. “No matter what it was.”

In 1975 Steve opened his own crash repair business in Provo.

The business is still going today, his children run the shop.

Steve went to every auto show he could and won numerous awards.

National magazines featured many of his cars and trucks.

“He was just such a loving, handsome man who has a legacy that will live on forever,” said his daughter Nichole Lambert. “He had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met.”

“A great man in this ward and he loved his church and helped everyone,” said his son Brandon Whitlock.

His family found great comfort in the exemplary lives of all three men.

“The only thing I can think of is that someone upstairs needed backup and the best were calling,” Travis said.

“I’m just glad we have such a close family that is helping everyone get through this and celebrate the lives of these men,” said Nichole.

“Just live to the fullest every day and take the ones you love and hold onto them,” said Brandon.

Ross Whitlock’s funeral is slated for Tuesday at Mayfield Town Cemetery in Sanpete County.
