Utah COVID-19 Update: 8 more deaths, 315 new cases documented last day

UTAH, April 20, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) – The Utah Department of Health reported eight more COVID-19 and 315 new cases on Tuesday that were documented in the past 24 hours.

That’s a total of 393,272 known cases and 2,174 confirmed coronavirus deaths.

Of the eight deaths, four occurred before March 20, according to UDoH. Those who died were:

A Carbon County woman aged 65 to 84 who was not hospitalized

A Salt Lake County woman aged 65 to 84 who was not hospitalized

A Sanpete County woman, aged 85 or over, residing in a long-term care facility

A Uintah County woman between the ages of 45 and 65 was hospitalized

A Uintah County woman, aged 85 or over, residing in a long-term care facility

A man from Utah County, over 85 years old, residing in a long-term care facility

A Weber County man aged 25 to 44 was hospitalized

A Weber County woman aged 65 to 84 was hospitalized

The number of vaccines administered was 1,916,922, an increase of 18,065 from yesterday.

UDoH reports 2,498,939 people tested, an increase of 5,100 people since yesterday. Tests number 4,510,088, an increase of 13,574 since yesterday.

The seven-day rolling average for positive tests is 375 per day. The seven-day rolling average for the percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.7%. The seven-day rolling average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.2%.

There are currently 138 people in the hospital with COVID-19. The total number of hospitalizations since the outbreak began is 15,959.
