Climber injured after falling 20 feet, fell 30 feet on Mt Superior
SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (KUTV) –
Salt Lake County Search and Rescue assisted a climber who was injured in a fall on the South Ridge of Mt Superior in Salt Lake County.
Two men were on their way up the ridge on Sunday afternoon when one fell.

During the fall, the man landed on a ledge and then fell another 30 meters or more before stopping.
The man’s climbing partner placed the 911 call before climbing to the injured climber’s location.

The fallen climber suffered severe head and back injuries.
His injuries and whereabouts required the assistance of a Life Flight helicopter.
The rescue operation lasted two hours and 30 minutes after the teams received the 911 call.
SLCOSAR later had a team help the injured climber’s friend climb the ridge back to the starting point.
