African Leadership Summit in Salt Lake City announced for September

Salt Lake City — Future Scholars of Africa, a Utah-based 501(c) non-profit organization, will be holding the annual African Leadership Summit on September 24, 2022, at the University of Utah law school. This event is organized for students of African descent aged 16-25 and is designed to offer students concrete leadership tools to use in their communities.

Workshops will include personal finance, LinkedIn, resume creation, transferable work skills, starting a business, confidence development, and goal setting. Speakers will include highly educated, successful professionals of African descent. It is anticipated that 100 African refugees and African immigrants students will attend.

Future Scholars of Africa looks forward to continuing to grow the Leadership Summit, and hopes to attract more attendees, more speakers, and incorporate more workshops as we prepare for the summit and as we plan for future years. This is a critical opportunity for them to learn valuable skills and see examples of successful Africans in their community.

There are four sponsorship levels available for this event. These sponsorships include opportunities for naming rights, banner advertisements at the event, a guest speaker, display advertisements, and logo features on our website and social media platforms. If interested in sponsorship, please contact Heather Barber, Chairman of the Board.

As an organization, Future Scholars of Africa aims to support individuals in learning life skills and accessing education and mentoring. Eighty thousand refugees live along the Wasatch Front; the majority of these refugees are under twenty-one years old.
