Body of missing Salt Lake City woman found in car off highway

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The body of Ms. Valerie Gardner of Salt Lake City, missing since Nov. 26, was found in a car on Bangerter Highway Tuesday night.

Gardner’s family told FOX 13 in a previous interview that Valerie was 46 and lived in an apartment in Salt Lake City with a roommate and a cat.

She spent time with the family on Thanksgiving and was seen going to work at Sundance Clothing in West Valley City, but never returned home and the family heard from her.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed the identification of a body in Gardner found in a vehicle near State Route 201 and the Bangerter Highway in West Valley City.

A Facebook page created by family and friends to help find Valerie also shared the tragic news. The post partially states: “At this point in time, little information is known. More will tell us in the coming days, and we’ll share what we can. Thank you for loving Valerie and for your support and efforts to find her. “
