The city of Casper has announced that it will consider adding ADA Complementary Paratransit Services.
According to a press release from the city, several open house events will be held where citizens can contribute to the idea of paratransit services.
“Open house events at which citizens’ contributions can be collected are for Tuesday, December 7th from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm and Wednesday, December 8th from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm in the meeting room at Ground floor in Casper City planned Hall, “the press release said. “It is important to gather citizens’ information on the new paratransit service details, according to Casper officials.”
The city has developed a draft of the services stating that Casper Area Transit’s goal is “to provide our customers with the best possible transportation service”.
“The Casper Area Transit fixed-route buses are equipped with elevators so that they are accessible to people who use a mobility device or who cannot climb stairs,” says the draft proposal. “Our drivers receive special training to support people with disabilities. Our goal is to make our fixed route accessible and convenient for everyone.
“Casper Area Transit’s door-to-door and ADA-complementary Paratransit service offers a comparable service to our regular liner service for citizens whose disability conditions prevent the use of the regular bus service (who must complete the application process) within the specified service limits. Door-to-door and ADA complementary paratransit applications are available in large print, PDF or Word format. The passenger should expect a shared driver service. Others can be picked up or dropped off after you before you reach your destination. Should If the system reaches capacity, passengers with ADA approval for paratransit are preferred. Whenever possible, buses with fixed routes should be used. “
If the proposal is approved, individuals can complete an application to determine if they are eligible for ADA’s free paratransit services. Applications can be made at the Casper Area Transit Office at 1715 E. 4th Street in Casper.
