– Daniel Mortensen Johnson, “Danny” or “Dan the Man” as he was known to many, was reunited with his mother and father on August 29th, 2022, at the age of 63 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 24th, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Norine and Orlyn Johnson, the youngest of their six children.

He graduated from East High School in 1977. Dan spent most of his career as a reputable and successful sales representative for both Waxie Sanitary Supply and Brody Chemical.

Dan was a kind, caring and loving father, brother, and friend. He was an especially devoted caretaker of his mother in her later years of life. Dan was a great mentor to many people he met throughout his life. He was a spiritual man and was involved with K2 the church for many years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to sing made up tunes often. Dan enjoyed playing and watching sports. In his free time, he was an avid golfer and softball player. He also enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and Utah Utes football games with close family and friends. He had an affinity for nature and travelling. He visited several countries, states, and national parks throughout his life.

Dan is survived by children, Danny (Rachelle), Bryce, and Caitlin; grandchildren, Tyler, Cameron, and Cali; siblings, Denise (Willy) Sommer, Marie Connelley, Lloyd (Nancy) Johnson, Orleen (Rob) Novasio, and Russell (Cara) Johnson.

He is preceded in death by father Orlyn, mother Norine, and beloved niece Sarina Astorga.

Family, friends, and others whose lives have been touched by Dan are invited to K2 the Church, 1881 E Vine St Murray, UT on Thursday September 8th at 1:00 pm to reminisce, grieve and support one another. Dan’s wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest alongside his mother in Parowan, Utah.
