Dianne Ricks Tingey, loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, died peacefully on October 14, 2021 with a loving family. She was born on December 11, 1951 to Lloyd Stanley and Cora Simons Ricks in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dianne married Paul Davis Tingey on August 10, 1977 for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ. Her beloved husband, mother, father, and father precede in death law. Dianne leaves behind her four children Nathan (Shellie), Jonathan, Joseph (Erin) and Anna; eight grandchildren, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Laura, Davis, Stafford, John, Rebecca, and Rachel; two brothers, Kent (Christy) and Gary; Mother-in-law, Beverly; five sisters-in-law and three sisters-in-law together with their spouses Mike (Leslie), Alan (Sue), Marla (Richard Ence), Brian (Janet), Cheryl (Ken Farr), Jon (Ginger), Jill (Scott Shumway), David (Michelle ); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dianne’s greatest joy was in her husband, children and grandchildren. She appreciated spending time with them and focused her efforts on making their success possible. Their intellect has been an inspiration to their children as they have been trained in various fields. She strengthened her family by actively practicing the virtues of righteousness and always pointing them to the Savior. She was a gifted teacher, and her best lessons came from her example of living her life according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dianne’s nature was kind, gentle, pure and loving. Her optimistic and happy demeanor kept her laughing and enabled her to persevere regardless of the circumstances. She was patient, thoughtful, a peacemaker, and firm in following the principles of truth. She had a sincere character, was gentle in her approach, and infallibly reconciled. She displayed angelic beauty and was an inspiration to everyone who met her.

Dianne had an unwavering testimony of the Savior. She loved reading the scriptures and found comfort in learning the eternal truths they contained. Her influence has been far reaching and she has been a pillar of her family that has always strengthened her in difficult times. Facing significant trials throughout her life, Dianne was a source of unyielding faith and goodness.

Dianne’s life was a selfless service, not only for her family but also for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She valued the gospel message of Jesus Christ and offered many years of dedicated service in Relief Society, young women, and Primary. The temple was a place of refuge for Dianne and she always found solace from participating in ordinances. She loved learning about her family heritage and was blessed in discovering their challenges, joys, and successes. She had great respect for nature and loved to be surrounded by the Lord’s creation. She enjoyed spending time with her family while reading to them, walking, hiking, and water and snow skiing. She used this time to inspire her family to learn and respect the beautiful surroundings around them. Dianne lived a full and honorable life that encouraged others to reach their full potential.

The family would like to sincerely thank the many specialist doctors and the intensive care team at the Markusspital for the countless hours of dedicated service for Dianne. Her loving care and devotion for her has been a great blessing in her need.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parley’s First Ward building at 2350 S 2100 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84109. Family and friends are invited to take part in a tour on Friday, October 22nd. 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Parley’s First Ward building or Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. before the funeral.
