1943~2022

Salt Lake City, UT—Dorothy Jean Goodwin Paraspolo passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on July 13th, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah after various health issues & months of declining health. Dorothy was born November 24th, 1943, in Strong, Maine. to Arthur & Florence Goodwin. Dorothy was the youngest of two children.

When Dorothy graduated high school, she left home at age 19. She worked for Etna Life Insurance Company in Hartford Connecticut. On weekends she worked in a tobacco farm. She moved to San Rafael, California shortly after with her grandmother Anita. She worked for Levi-Strauss in accounts payable then Safeway where she was the head cashier for 5 years. This is where she met Robert, married & moved to Georgia, Pocatello & then to the University of Utah for college.

Dorothy was married 20 years, had 2 children & 6 grandchildren. Through the years Dorothy continually explored new avenues with her career path, with real estate while Robert was in school. Dorothy was a stay-at-home mom for a few years. She worked @ Discover Card in the customer service department & then decided to get her degree in the healthcare field as a Medical Assistant. She found her passion working in healthcare where she helped the elderly to reside in the comfort of their homes.

During the past 15 years Dorothy resided @ Lowell Apartments where she made several friends with residents & staff. She loved attending the senior center nearby, she will be missed.

She was survived by her ex-husband Robert Paraspolo, her daughter Kristie Paraspolo Howick, son in law, Travis Howick, her son Anthony Paraspolo, her grandchildren, Josh Paraspolo, Owen Howick, Bailey, Arianna, Mya & Kambree Paraspolo.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lowell staff & friends as well as the doctors, nurses, social workers, & staff at the University of Utah.

Funeral arrangements are pending & will be open to the family only.
