SANDY, UT – JEAN LARSEN RICHARDS passed away at her home on Monday, September 5, 2022.
Jean was born on April 14, 1942 in Salt Lake City, UT to James Larsen and Madeline Balderston Larsen. She was the proud mother of 3 children, Terri Jean, David Woodrow Jr. and John Spencer. Jean met the “Love of her Life” Joe Richards and they married on December 10, 1978. Jean was also dedicated to her career in Machining and Aerospace. She retired after 25 years of service with Hercules (ATK) in 2001. She and Joe both had a great love of nature and fishing, so in 1988, they purchased land and built their cabin at Strawberry Lake Estates, where they spent all of their off time. After Joe’s passing, Jean dedicated her time to her mother and volunteering at her local Senior Center.
Jean is survived by her son John Spencer Brown (Camomile), daughter Terri Kirk (Duane), sister Joanne Patten, sister-in-law Pat Larsen, 11 grandchildren , 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers, James D. Larsen, John G Larsen (Donna), Jerry K Larsen, husband, Joseph Richards and son David Woodrow Brown Jr.
Graveside services for Jean will be held on Monday, September 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, where family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 12:00 p.m pm to 1:40 pm prior to the services.
