1926 — 2022

Joyce Mordaunt Way passed away on July 19, 2022. Mom was born May 28, 1926 in Ogden, a daughter of Vernon and Josephine Rollins Mordaunt. The day after graduating from Ogden High School she enrolled in the Cadet Nursing Program at the Dee Hospital and it was during this time that she met a handsome young doctor, Grant Way, who would become her loving husband on February 4, 1950. Her nursing career ended when her first child was born but her skills served the family well over the years.

Joyce was a natural athlete and loved to ski, golf, and play tennis. She also enjoyed backpacking trips and any activity with her family. Always a talented and adventurous cook, she loved trying out new recipes.

Mom was generous with her time and belonged to many organizations including the Ogden Junior League, Coronet Club, Medical Auxiliary, and the Ogden Country Club. She volunteered as a hospice nurse in the Ogden area for nine years. Joyce was a member of the LDS Church Kingston Ward.

Joyce is survived by her son, Jon (Teri); daughters, Kelly and Jodi (Wade); grandchildren, Aaron, Chris, Alex, Justin, Dylan and Ryanne; great-grandsons, Yair and Kai and sister, Klea Mordaunt. Preceded in death by husband, Grant; sons, Terry and Mark; grandson, Jeremy; brothers, Vern and Jerry; and sister, Pat Rothey.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 1 pm at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. A Celebration of Life Reception for family and friends will be held on Friday following the services until 5 pm at the Ogden Golf and Country Club, 4197 South Washington Blvd
