UTAH, Dec 11, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) – It’s law enforcement season to help local children and their families prepare for the holidays.

Several Utah agencies have joined in the volunteer fun over the past few weeks and are now sharing pictures on Facebook.

Santa came to the Shop with a Hero event on Saturday at Weber County’s Kids and Cops. Then the jolly old elf stopped in Wasatch County for a cop gathering place.

In Uintah County, the police officers, officially designated as Santa’s helpers, handled the holiday.

Last Saturday, Santa sent a reindeer to stand in for the Shop with the Shield congregation in Salt Lake County.

Salt Lake County Sheriff, Uniform Police

“Today the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Unified Police Department celebrated their annual ‘Shopping With The Shield’ event,” said a December 4th from the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

“Members of both agencies donated more than $ 40,000 to purchase gifts for over 100 children and 39 families. We would also like to thank our Midvale Walmart and Chick-Fil-A for their generous donations and time in helping us make this day unforgettable. “

Uintah County

“It was shopping with a cop this morning and it was great!” Read a Saturday post from the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office. “Thanks to everyone who made this day possible and that we were allowed to be there!

Wasatch County

“The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office attended the annual Shop with Cop event this morning along with the surrounding authorities,” said a post from the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.

“This program brings local first responders together with local children for a fun morning. Breakfast was held at the Homestead Resort at 6:30 am. After that, first responders drove the children to Walmart, where they could do some Christmas shopping and hang out with Santa.

“The funds from the program give these children the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts for their immediate families. We would like to thank all local companies and sponsors who make this event possible. We couldn’t do it without all of you. “

“Early in the morning, Roy and several other agencies got the chance to attend Weber County’s annual Shop with a Hero event. Firefighters, deputies and civil servants were able to go shopping with almost 100 children this year, ”says an article by Roy City Fire & Rescue.

“Santa Claus made a special appearance through one of our local air ambulance services AirLife Utah. We are proud to be part of this annual event! “
