Man dies after exiting, falling under TRAX train

SALT LAKE CITY — A man died after exiting a TRAX train at the Mall/City Center stop Saturday night after he fell between the train’s cars.

Authorities believe he may have hit his head, and the TRAX operator was unaware he had fallen before moving the train.

A bus bridge will serve the area between the Gallivan Center and Temple Square, as the train will not be moving while the investigation continues.

Service is estimated to resume at around midnight, but all TRAX trains will experience delays due to the accident.

#TRAX Alert 7:17 PM: Due to a train versus trespasser incident, a bus bridge will be between Gallivan and Temple Square.
