Nicon Andritsakis Obituary (1939 – 2022) – Ogden, UT

Nicon Andritsakis passed away suddenly on August 8, 2022, at the age of 83. A native of Sparta, Greece, he was born February 1, 1939 to George and Panayiota Andritsakis. Growing up in Greece herding sheep in the mountains of Laconia, he also never stopped learning and was always at the top of his class. Nicon immigrated to the United States in 1965, making his permanent home in Layton, Utah. In 1978, he returned to Greece and married Despina Niavis, and together they came back to the United States to start their new life together, where they had one son.
Nicon was a very skilled architect and contractor, building homes, restaurants, and commercial buildings for over 40 years before he retired. His work ethic, honesty, and fairness earned him the respect of many throughout the Wasatch Front.
Nicon was a devoted husband, father, papou (grandfather) and friend. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Despina, his son George, his two granddaughter Susie and Despina, sister-in-law Anastasia Andritsakis of Elk Grove, CA, nieces Pota (Bill) Cernius, Kathie (Bruce) Kaminski, and Georgia Andritsakis, as well as many cousins ​​in Greece and the United States. He was preceded in death by his brothers Kosmas and Pete Andritsakis, his sister Helen Stavrakos of Sparta, Greece and niece Helen Andritsakis of Elk Grove, Ca.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 674 42nd Street Ogden, Utah. Following interment, Makaria will be held at the Church Hall.
