No leaks, no injuries from early morning train derailment in Ogden

Crews are currently on site to clean up an early morning train derailment in Calgary.

A CP Rail freight train came off the tracks at Alyth Yard in Ogden at around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, affecting traffic in the area.

Due to a train derailment, the lanes to the north and south of Ogden Road are closed. Please avoid the area and take an alternate route.

An email to the Herald of Salem Woodrow of CP Rail says the investigation is ongoing.

“There have been no leaks or spills of dangerous goods,” they said. “ CP immediately dispatched crews and resources to respond to the situation. There were no injuries. “

According to other media reports, seven cars were derailed in the 5000 block on Ogden Road SE near 50 Avenue Bridge.
