No rain expected at University of Utah, BYU, USU, Weber State or SUU football games

The temperatures should be more pleasant.

It will be dry for games across the state on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Good news, football fans, there are five college games going on in Utah on Saturday, and the National Weather Service doesn’t expect a drop of rain to fall on any of them.

The weather service’s forecast for the state on Friday also says no rain, so all high school soccer games should also be dry. And the temperatures should be more pleasant.

The Salt Lake City area will see highs through Tuesday from the mid-1980s lows. The next chance of rain is Tuesday night, when a cold front is expected that will drop temperatures to mid-60s on Wednesday.

Temperatures in the St. George area will hit the mid-90s on Friday and Saturday and then stay around 90 through Tuesday. This cold front will bring the highs there to around 80 on Wednesday, with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms after midnight on Tuesday that will last through Wednesday.

With the exception of the patchy smoke from western forest fires in parts of southwest Utah on Friday morning, the air quality is expected to be pretty good this weekend. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality predicts green / good conditions in Cache, Duchesne, Iron, Uintah, Washington, and Weber / Box Elder counties, and yellow / moderate in Carbon, Salt Lake, Tooele, and Utah counties.

Boise State at Utah State (10 am, CBS / Ch. 2) • It gets a bit chilly at kick-off – the game will eventually take place in Logan. But temperatures will warm up from the mid-50s to mid-60s, and from the low to mid-70s by the fourth quarter. Sunshine and winds of 3 mph are expected.

Washington State, Utah (12:30 PM, Pac-12 Network) • It will be in the mid-70s at game time and mid-80s when the game ends. Sunshine and winds of 6-7 miles per hour are expected.

UC Davis at Weber State (6pm, ESPN +) • It will be around 80 for season, and temperatures could dip into the high 60s by the fourth quarter. Clear skies and winds of 5-7 miles per hour are expected.

East Washington, South Utah (6pm, ESPN +) • Cedar City weather will be about the same as Ogden – about 80 at game time, cooling down to about 70, maybe the upper 60s. Clear skies and winds from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. are expected.

South Florida on BYU (8:15 PM, ESPN) • Expect temperatures to be around the 70s at the start of the game and dropping to the low 60s by the end. The sky is expected to be clear with winds of about 5 miles per hour.
