Donald Gene Bosgieter
Donald Bosgieter was born on July 18, 1937 in Ogden, Utah. He has three sisters and three brothers. Donald is a twin and they were quite a surprise to their family as his parents had no idea they had twins until they were born. Donald was a few minutes older than his twin, Ronald.

Don was in the first senior year, attending every three years, and graduated from Ben Lomond High School, where he excelled in athletics and cross country. He set many school and state records in running. After graduating from high school, he joined the National Guard and attended Weber State, where he studied diesel mechanics.

Don met his wife Tona Rue (Toni) while training in the National Guard in Salt Lake City. She lived there while attending business school. They eventually married and have three children and seven grandchildren.

Don is very adventurous and likes to try new things. He rode naked horses in the rodeo for several years. He loved the thrill of riding a crazy bareback horse.

Don was on the ski patrol for over 20 years. He was on the Snow Basin ski patrol and was an original Powder Mountain patrol officer. He spent many hours on the slopes in Utah. He was skiing until 2 years ago.

Don worked for Cream O’Weaver Dairy for years. When the Ogden dairy closed, he was working for the Ogden City School District. He worked many part-time jobs with his good friends and helped laying tiles and carpentry. He is a man of many talents and abilities. He also volunteered with the Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts of America. He spent many hours and weekends helping in the scouting program. He spent many Friday evenings helping his son play on the sidelines at Weber High School for over 7 years. He enjoys helping others and making a difference in the world.

Don is an avid nature lover who enjoys hunting and fishing. He started hunting with his older brothers at a young age. He loved spending time outdoors, either camping or hunting with a bow, rifle, or muzzle loader in the mountains. He hunted deer, elk, bison, ducks and antelopes. After he retired, he would be seen fishing in his boat in Willard Bay with his black dog Buck all day. During the winter month, you would see him on the ski slopes and enjoy the Utah snow. He loves the outdoors!

Don is survived by his three children: Kory (Diane), Kyle (Stacy), Wendi (Jim Austin), seven grandchildren and his twin brother Ron Bosgieter.

He is preceded in death by his wife Tona Rue, parents and five siblings.
