Obituary for VeNeice Williams – The Gila Herald

VeNeice Williams, a lifelong resident of Safford, stepped into Eternity on November 22, 2021, joining her beloved husband Glyn. VeNeice was born on June 5, 1935 in Vernal, Utah, to parents Lester Nielsen and Florence Merrell Nielsen. with siblings Geneva, Brenda Joyce, Craig, David, Lorraine, Elosie, Paula, JaNeice, Kerry, Stewart and Steven.

VeNeice earned her GED from Safford High School and later married and was sealed forever on June 19, 1952 at the Mesa Arizona Temple to the love of her life, Glyn R. Williams. The couple were blessed with six children; Arlo, Mallene, Laurie, Doug, Kevin, and Cheryl.

Besides raising her children and being a housewife, VeNeice was very active in our community and always helped with one thing or another, such as: She also enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, cooking canned food, serving others, selling most of the Tupperware, and babysitting for many of the children in the community.

She was open-minded and knew no strangers, helped everyone she could, was very generous, and a loyal member of Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ. One thing was certain, VeNeice was always happy and had a big smile on her face.

She leaves behind her children Arlo (Jo Ann), Mallene (Bernie), Laurie (Elbert), Doug (Sandy), Kevin (Teresa) and Cheryl; and her siblings Geneva (Jim), Lorraine, Craig (Wendy), David and Brenda Joyce. She also leaves 29 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.

VeNeice preceded her beloved husband Glyn in death; her parents, Lester and Florence Nielsen; her sisters Eloise, Paula and JaNeice and their brothers John, Kerry, Stewart and Steven.

A tour will take place on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel and on Saturday morning, December 4, at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Safford Stake Center. He is buried in Hubbard Cemetery.
