Linda Joyce O’Donnell | News, sports, jobs

Our loving mother, wife, grandma and aunt Linda Quintana Nabor O’Donnell died peacefully with her family on November 19, 2021 as a result of cancer at home. She fought a good fight and gave everything to the end. She was a very strong woman.

Mama was born and raised in Ogden Utah, the eldest daughter of Ray C. and Martha Quintana. Her love for her father, mother and siblings was indescribable. She knew that each of them would be there for her whenever she needed them and she for her. Family was everything and family always came first in her life, she always made sure that everyone was fine with herself. She accepted everyone and greeted them in her home or just in simple conversation, but she always gave her opinion . Our mother was very direct and to the point, she had no filter, we all knew where we were with her and we loved her because she was her.

She married Eugene Nabor in Ogden, Utah, in 1966 and had three children. They later divorced. On December 18, 1982, she married Kevin O’Donnell and had another son. Kevin was stationed at Hill AFB and soon began receiving overseas assignments. Mom and Kevin traveled to many strange places and then Kevin was sent to the first Desert Storm. Mom was alone in Torrejon, Spain for 9 months while Kevin was in the first desert storm, but she made the most of her time volunteering for the Red Cross for the military families who were going through the same thing as her. In Torrejon, Spain and Bitburg, Germany, she made many friendships that continue to this day. Mom made many lifelong friends wherever she went. She could start a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and then they would be friends for life. When Kevin retired from the Air Force, Mom and Kevin returned to Ogden Utah. Before she was sent abroad and came home, Mom was a housekeeper at McKay Dee Hospital. She loved her job and her colleagues. There she was loved by many. Mom was an avid sports fan and supported all of her children in all of their baseball games and all of the sports we participated in. She was a season ticket holder for the Ogden Raptors, the team knew her and called her Mama Lola. She loved going to Wendover and playing the penny slots. She had the luckiest streak and always came home with jackpots on every trip.

A special thank you to Hilda and Gary for all your loving friendships with our mother. She enjoyed going to her cabin on Bear Lake.

She leaves behind her loving husband Kevin O’Donnell Ogden Utah, her children Gino Nabor (Jana Kearl) – Hooper Utah, Michael Nabor (Jason Lake) – Layton Utah, Ursula Nabor (Chad Gunter) – Green River Wyoming, Michael O ‘Donnell – Logan Utah. She was so proud and loved her grandsons Jade (Logan Hembree) Meridian Mississippi, Trenton Krentz – Green River Wyoming, Darian Krentz – Green River Wyoming and Draaxtyn Kearl – Hooper Utah. Siblings Cindy Quintana – Ogden Utah, Ramon Quintana (Bonnie) – Liberty Utah, Leeroy Quintana (Margaret) – Ogden Utah. Her parents Ray C and Martha Quintana precede her in death; her brother Christopher Quintana; and her niece Jacqueline Quintana.

She also leaves behind so many aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and cousins from the Martinez, Nabor, Quintana, and O’Donnell families. All of her nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces that she really loved so much, and each and every one of them had a special place in her heart, a smile on her face whenever she was with them. Always remember – Aunt LaLa, Aunt Lin and Mama Lola will love you forever. She will watch over us all forever!

We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at McKay Dee Hospital in the Cancer Care Center, including the nurses and doctors in the intensive care unit, for their kindness and compassion for the mother in her need. Our family would like to thank everyone at Applegate Hospice and Nurse Shaunee, Dr.
