Ogden ALC Commander pegs the second star | news

HILL AIR FORCE BASE – Commander Brig of the Ogden Air Logistics Center. General McCauley von Hoffman was promoted to major general in a ceremony May 7 at Hill Air Force Base.

The second star was pinned by her husband Mitch and their three daughters Candace, Victoria and Kathleen. The ceremony was presided over by retired Maj. Gen. Kathryn J. Johnson, former director of logistics, engineering and protection of the armed forces, at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command.

“For all of you who helped get this second star on my shoulder, I promise I will pay it forward,” General von Hoffman said at the ceremony. “I promise I will do my best to take care of our air force and our planes. That’s all I can do except say a big thank you. “

General von Hoffman, originally from Columbus, Mississippi, has served in the Air Force for nearly 32 years. In July 2019, she became Commander of the Ogden ALC and leads a team of more than 8,500 people who perform the maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of Air Force aircraft.

The Ogden ALC produces aerospace products such as electronics, avionics, instruments, propulsion systems and software for the assigned weapon systems and is the Air Force landing gear competence center. In addition, the complex oversees the national air force reservoir for aircraft storage, recovery, regeneration and disposal at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona.

General von Hoffman will be leaving Hill Air Force Base in July to become director of logistics, civil engineering, armed forces protection and nuclear integration at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
