OGDEN — A charity golf tournament to benefit the Ogden Rescue Mission is set for next week and there are still opportunities for those wanting to take part or help out.

The 2022 Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 9 at Wolf Creek Resort in Eden and organizers hope to raise $35,000 for the nonprofit group, which helps the homeless. That total would be the largest annual haul ever in the tournament’s history.

“The golf tournament provides a fun way to raise money for critical services and resources for the Ogden Rescue Mission’s purpose,” said Trevor Morris, director of marketing at TAB Bank, the event host. The annual tournament has generated $475,000 for Ogden Rescue Mission since 2001, enough to provide 180,000 meals for those in need.

Those interested in taking part or helping out can contact Morris at [email protected]. Individuals and companies can get involved and help via hole sponsorships, breakfast and lunch sponsorships or by taking part in the tournament as foursomes. Donations are also being collected for a silent auction.

Since 1964, the Ogden Rescue Mission, located at 2775 Wall Ave., has served the homeless and indigent via services meant to meet clients’ spiritual, physical, emotional, educational, social and mental wholeness needs.

“We look forward to another great day on the golf course educating the community about our mission to end homelessness and restore lives,” Judy Doud, the Ogden Rescue Mission director, said in a statement.
