SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police took a person into custody after a critical incident on Saturday night.
According to police, the person threatened officers with a firearm near the intersection of Utahna Drive and Emery Street and is now receiving treatment at a hospital. No officers were injured during the incident.
We are responding to a critical incident in the area of Utahan Ave. & Emery St. One person has been taken into custody. No injuries to officers. Salt Lake police tweeted that they have started the protocol for an officer-involved critical incident.
“There is no longer a danger to our community,” the tweet continued.
This incident occurred in the 1400 block of South Utahan Drive. The suspect who threatened officers with a firearm is in custody and is at the hospital. We have started the OICI protocol. There is no longer a danger to our community. #slc#slcpd#saltlakecitypic.twitter.com/UmtnXLbTkt
