OGDEN — Roy led 8-7 after one quarter, then Ogden High girls basketball outscored the Royals 12-6 in the second frame to take control in a 40-30 home win on Wednesday night.
Ashley Christensen led all scorers with 11 points for Ogden (5-5). Zoey Franklin and Ellie Oliverson each added eight points.
Sienna Sanchez led Roy (0-8) with eight points. Jerzee Hart and Nicole Williams each scored seven points.
PLEASANT GROVE 73, LAYTON 39
LAYTON — Layton was outscored 26-9 in the first quarter of a home loss to Pleasant Grove.
Jocelyn Martinez led Layton (1-6) with eight points. Brenley Boydston, Charly Stevens and Olivia Hodapp each scored seven points.

GARLAND — Bear River led 37-22 at the half and held off Weber’s comeback to last the Warriors at home.
Kyver Jensen led Bear River (8-3) with 33 points. Gehrig Marble added 22. Bridger Barfuss scored 15 points with three 3-pointers and Owen Olsen tallied 10 points and two treys.
Hunter Schenck poured in 40 points and three 3-pointers for Weber (3-5) but fouled out with 1:05 left in the second overtime. Griffyn Doughty scored 14 points with two treys and Ethan Shupe hit three 3-pointers for nine points.
NORTHRIDG 56, CLEARFIELD 51
LAYTON — Bentley Whitear scored a game-high 20 points with two 3-pointers to lead Northridge past Clearfield.
Logan Birt scored 14 points for Northridge (5-3) and De’Qoune Kennedy added 10.
Peyton Kotter led Clearfield (5-2) with 17 points and three 3-pointers. Austin Mitchell scored 12 points and Trace Hansen tallied nine.

HOLLADAY — Layton Christian broke the century mark in an opening-day win over Park City at Olympus High’s Utah Autism Holiday Classic.
Isaac Cubero led six Eagles in double figures with 18 points. Otavio Armani scored 16 for Layton Christian (8-4) and Timmie Olubisi added 13.
Cubero, Armani and Olubisi each hit two 3-pointers. Tyrese Lacey and Ates Yetimoglu scored 12 points apiece and Tyrin Jones tallied 10.
RIVERTON 43, ROY 37
RIVERTON — Roy led 15-6 after one quarter, but was outscored 30-12 across the second and third frames and shot 26% from the field in a loss to host Riverton at the Riverton Holiday Tournament.
Bronson Belnap led Roy (5-4) with 10 points. Jonathan Alcaraz added eight points and Beau Belnap hit two 3-pointers for six points. Elijah Sowards led the team with eight rebounds.

OGDEN — Jake East scored 19 points but Ben Lomond fell at home in Marsh Valley (Idaho).
Zach Pringle and Miguel Santos each scored six points for Ben Lomond (0-9).

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Davis led 19-15 after one quarter, but was outscored 14-7 in the second frome and couldn’t recover in a loss to Liberty (California) at Rancho Mirage High’s Desert Holiday Invitational.
Zach Fisher led all scorers with 17 points and six rebounds for Davis (4-5). Colby Whicker scored 10 points with two 3-pointers and Alex Fisher added eight points and six rebounds.

HOLLADAY — Viewmont trailed 25-14 at the half in a loss to Highland at the Utah Autism Holiday Classic.
Zach Robison led Viewmont (3-5) with nine points and four rebounds. Mitch Jeppesen tallied seven points and six boards while Scott Noel added seven points and five rebounds.
ROY 64, ELKO-NV 27
RIVERTON — Elijah Sowards tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as Roy blew out Elko (Nevada) Tuesday at the Riverton Holiday Tournament.
Corben Schuffenhauer added 10 points and two 3-pointers for Roy (5-3).

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Davis never trailed and led 23-14 at the half in a win over Crespi (California) Tuesday at the Desert Holiday Invitational hosted by Rancho Mirage High School.
Colby Whicker led all scorers with 17 points for Davis (4-4), shooting 5 of 10 from 3-point range. Coleman Atwater added 14 points and Kaden Eggett scored 10 points, with each making two 3-pointers.
