Pride week ends in Utah with rally, march in Salt Lake City | Lifestyles

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – More than 20,000 people marched through downtown Salt Lake City over the weekend to wrap up Pride Week in Utah.

Jonathan Foulk, chief operating officer of the Utah Pride Center, said it was “nice” to see everyone back at the Rainbow March & Rally after events were canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, KSTU reported. TV.

“We really wanted to go back to the very beginning of Pride,” said Foulk. “Pride started out as a protest and a rally and a march, and that’s what we brought specifically for this year because we didn’t have food vendors and carts and we could have a super big gathering.”

Planning for next year has already begun with the hope that more people will be able to attend, said Foulk.
