Shannon Ogden on what he will never take for granted again after the pandemic is over

DENVER – A few days ago we asked our viewers on Facebook: “What’s the only thing you’ll never take for granted after the pandemic is over?” We have received hundreds of responses.

Let’s start with Priscilla Martinez, who writes: “Big family gatherings where you can hug everyone !!”

Hugs came up a lot in your responses.

Linda Schanhals says: “Working in an office and being in contact with colleagues. A year later, working from home stuck and still felt disconnected.”

Hold on, Linda.

Brandon Towns says it’s a “back and forth between movie theaters and Sunday morning brunch”.

Carrie Jackson writes, “The ability to shake hands with someone I admire.”

Makayla Martinez says, “Time. I haven’t looked at the same thing since. It’s extremely precious and I use it much more wisely now.”

Katy Schmoll really sums it up for all of us. “To be able to go where I want, when I want!”

Amen, Katy.

To me, it’s how precious the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is. As for so many of you, there was a large chunk of time my 5 year old couldn’t see her grandparents. It was sad for her. Sorry for her. Sorry for her mother and me. I will never take the time they spend together for granted.

I will never again take peace for granted in the United States. We found last year that it was a thin, brittle line that separates the way we expect our policies and the chaos it can fall into.

I’ll be adding Facetime to my list too. What a lifeline that was.

And finally, even though it’s now fully available again, I’ll never take access to toilet paper for granted again! Remember it? That was crazy!

There was one anxious night that I drove home at midnight, pulled into a 7-11 and panicked the clerk and asked if they had any. He said no, but he had a 4-pack in the trunk of his Corolla that he would sell me for $ 20. I didn’t buy it.

Thank you for all of your wonderful answers.

Incidentally, I never have and never will take for granted how many of you turned to Denver7 during this pandemic.

I hope that by this time next year the vaccine will be so widespread and widespread that we will take it for granted.
