The Salt Lake Chamber · Speaking for business: Blunovus

This is Derek Miller, speaking for business. May is the national month for mental health awareness. Businesses in the United States lose between $ 80 billion and $ 100 billion annually due to absenteeism and lost productivity related to mental health problems. It doesn’t even affect the human suffering associated with that loss. James Hadlock, co-founder of Blunovus, is here to tell us how his company is making a difference.

JAMES HADLOCK

At Blunovus, we know that 1 in 4 people have a mental illness and 80% of those affected will never ask for help because of stigma and professional concern. We are on a mission to change that.

We’re so much more than a traditional employee assistance program. We’re a human liaison company that puts people first, and we live this out by providing employees – and their loved ones – with 24/7 mental health support and the resources they need to heal. We also help companies improve their culture and support their employees through manager certifications, executive coaching and ongoing wellbeing analyzes.

Our goal is to be up front and help organizations proactively address mental health in the workplace long before a crisis ever occurs. We believe that people need people, and together we can break down the mental health stigma to create happier, healthier workers.
