Take part in the 20th annual River Festival!

The event begins on Friday, August 20, with marathon registrations from 4 p.m. “NoWhere Fast” will play on Friday night and “The Party Squad” will be the DJ on Saturday!

Friday 20th August

That Cooking Cajun prawns will be open to the public again! Tickets are available from the Green River Chamber of Commerce for hours of 5:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., now through August 20.

  • $ 25.00 for a boat (about 1 pound of shrimp) plus potatoes, corn, sausage and soda or water.
  • $ 45 for 2 boats – Date Night Special
  • $ 15 for a canoe (about ½ lb shrimp) plus potatoes, corn, sausage and soda or water.

Remember this is Cajun style so be ready for the heat!

The Knights of Columbus will a Spaghetti dinner for a fundraiser. Tickets for this dinner can also be purchased from the Green River Chamber of Commerce. * Food trucks are also organized on Friday evenings.

Friday evening ends with fireworks in the dark! -Make sure you get the best seat on the island for this spectacular show.

Both days

The Brew Garden and the Homemade / Handmade Vendor Show runs FRIDAY night and SATURDAY.

The River Festival is partnering with 307 Cornhole this year to inspire festival goers great tournament of cornhole!

The children’s tournament takes place on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The adult tournament takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday 21st August

The 18th yearbook “Run with the horse marathon” takes place at 7am around the Wild Horse Loop Tour.

  • The event includes a 1/2 marathon and a 10K run and has a time limit of 7 hours.
  • The race is professionally measured, which helps both runners and volunteers to increase efficiency.

The runners will run through town, on to the Wild Horse Loop Tour, and then turn and follow the same route back. Every two miles there will be refreshment stations with water, powerade and energy snacks, which alternate at each station.

That Big duck race takes place at 12 noon.

This event is fun for the whole family. We’re throwing buckets of rubber ducks into the Green River while everyone cheers for their lucky card numbers! May the ducks always be in your favor!

Seedskadee Trout Unlimited will be back with us again this year for that “Show off your fish
Contest.

Companies and individuals are invited to purchase a fish cut and decorate it to their heart’s content (family-friendly) to become this year’s winner! What are you gaining? Bragging rights and your fish! Ace Hardware was our running champion. Will they win again this year? Find out again at the River Festival! The public vote starts on Friday evening and lasts until Saturday at 1 p.m.. The winner will be announced shortly afterwards.

Got a smoking ride you’d like to show off at the River Festival?

The Sweetwater Rodders will host the Autoshow in Evers Park.

Polish up your favorite ride! Cars, trucks, motorcycles, classic cars and innovations are welcome!

If you have not been able to pre-register, no need to worry, you can also register on Saturday, August 21st from 9 a.m.

New this year, Bad Joker Brewing and Square State Brewing will be on site Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Beer cards cannot be used in the breweries, only cash is accepted.
