Three Named AVCA All-Americans; Six Total NJAC Players Earn AVCA All-Region

LEXINGTON, KY — Three NJAC women’s volleyball players were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention, including Kean’s Anne Beckemeyer, Stockton’s Haley Green, and Rowan’s Natalie Ogden. The trio also earned First Team All-Region accolades.

Additionally, Rowan’s Brooke Adams, Montclair State’s Leah Higgins, and Stockton’s Teleyah Witherspoon picked up Honorable Mention All-Region honors.

Beckemeyer, a two-time All-NJAC performer, totaled 307.5 points, 225 kills, 105 blocks, 51 digs and 16 aces over 29 matches. She averaged 3.20 points per set, 2.34 kills per set, 1.09 blocks per set, 0.53 digs per set and a .247 hitting percentage. She finished the season as the NJAC leader in blocks per set (1.07) and led Kean to the ECAC Championship title.

Green led the NJAC in kills (3.67/set) and finished second in points (3.91/set) and fourth in hitting percentage (.280). The outside hitter also contributed defensively with 112 digs and 25 blocks as well as being an excellent passer who successfully passed the ball on 90.9 percent of her 220 service receptions.

Ogden earns her second All-America Honorable Mention after leading Rowan to his second straight undefeated conference record, the NJAC title, and NCAA appearance. The three-time All-NJAC performer led the team in kills (362), kills per set (3.46), and double-doubles (14) while ranked in the top five in the NJAC in those categories. Ogden will leave the Rowan program as the all-time leader in attacks (3367) and second in kills (1134).

Adams, a two-time All-NJAC setter, led the NJAC in assists this season with 9.88 per set. She also ranks 14th in NCAA Division III in total assists and 17th in assists per set.

Higgins, who became Montclair State’s career kills leader in the NJAC Quarterfinals, led the Red Hawks with 353 kills while adding 220 digs, 40 aces, and 37 blocks. She is now a five-time All-NJAC performer and finishes her career with a program-best 1,156 kills.

Witherspoon finished second in the NJAC in blocks (0.99/set) as a middle hitter for Stockton. Offensively, the sophomore smacked 135 kills and registered a .282 hitting percentage on 308 attacks while playing in all 29 matches for the Ospreys.
