Uintah County ambulance patient dies

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah – A Uintah County ambulance patient died in the early hours of Saturday morning on Highway 40 near Myton.

According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, a 38-year-old Vernal woman had a medical exam at the Ashley Regional Medical Center on Friday night.

As required by law, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office deputies transported her to a behavioral health facility. The facility is located in Utah County.

When they approached Myton, the woman had a medical problem. As a result, MPs immediately stopped and began to provide assistance.

An ambulance was also called. However, the ambulance service was unable to resuscitate the woman.

The woman was identified as Erica Marquez. Her body was sent to the prosecutor for an autopsy.
