Vine Grove ready for the first Artisan Market | Local news

The first of four Artisan Markets for the next two months in Vine Grove will take place on Saturday at Optimist Park.

Mayor Pam Ogden said she had been asked if she wanted to add more events to Optimist Park and the market was a good option.

She said she hoped for a good turnout and she thought the timing would be great for people looking for a Mother’s Day gift.

Scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the market features food trucks, local artisans, boutiques, and more.

“This will be one of the first local events with fewer than 1,000 people,” said Ogden. “No masks are required unless you want to wear them. We want everyone to feel safe. “

The market is a free event.

Other handicraft markets will take place from May 22, June 5 and June 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“If you do four of these, people just have to come to an event when they want and see what they’re about,” Ogden said earlier.

There won’t be any set-up costs for food trucks or any of the stands, she said.

The Artisan Market will be raining or shining and Ogden said she was hoping for a big turnout as people seek an opportunity to get out and see what the market has to offer.
