The Ogden-based university is keeping up with other Utah institutions such as Utah Jazz, Vivint Arena, Hogle Zoo, Harmons, and Intermountain Healthcare to expand masking requirements in their facilities and events after the statewide mandate expires this weekend.

The University of Utah took a similar stance on Thursday, calling for masks in all university-operated buildings until the end of the academic year.

While Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall announced an extension of the mask mandate in the state capital, met by Salt Lake County officials who said it would not be enforced anywhere else in the county neither representatives of the city of Ogden nor representatives of the Weber administrative district made a statement either way.
