(Rock Springs, WY) – At around 6:30 am on September 28, 29-year-old Salt Lake City resident Samuel S. Roberts died in a vehicle overturned near mile post 9.1 on I-80 Service Road east of Rock Springs.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) press release, driver fatigue is being investigated as a potential factor.
Roberts was on Service Road heading west when he was unable to negotiate a left turn, causing him to get off the road and overturn.
He was buckled up and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
This marks the 85th death on the streets of Wyoming in 2021, up from 100 in 2020, 123 in 2019, and 84 in 2018.
