Salt Lake City Summer League Day 3: Preview

It’s the last day of the Salt Lake City Summer League for Utah Jazz. We have seen great accomplishments from Trent Forrest, Udoka Azubuike and some positive signs from Elijah Hughes and Jarrell Brantley.

With one final game, this is a chance for everyone in Jazz’s summer league squads to prove their worth and work towards a chance for squad spots and playing time next season.

Jared Butler missed all of the games in Salt Lake City, but we won’t see him in the Las Vegas Summer League either.

Justin Zanik points out that Jared Butler is unlikely to play in the Vegas Summer League.

It seems to be precautionary.

Zanik on Butler: “Jared has a full training regimen, basically as a return to match history because he is out in the off-season. I feel like if Vegas was 10 days later he would be playing. He’s been out of contact in a while. .. it is not necessary to have your first contact in competitive sport. “

This may be the case, but Andy Larsen stressed that this could also be related to the contract to be signed.

Not mentioned, but probably also a role: Butler has not yet signed a contract with Jazz. It can be concluded with either a 1-year minimum contract or a 2-year minimum contract with any amount of guaranteed money.

We’ll see how soon that gets signed and when jazz fans have a chance to see Jared Butler in action.
