Gloria Arrayet Obituary (1940 – 2022) – Grand Junction, CO

Gloria Jean Arrayet

October 1, 1940 – May 7, 2022

Gloria Jean Arrayet “Mimi” passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family May 7, 2022. She was 81 years old.

Gloria was born on October 1, 1940, at her grandparents’ home in Vernal, Utah. She graduated from Kremmling High School in 1959, and attended Airline College in Los Angeles for a short time before returning home. She met Louis Arrayet while working in Craig, Colorado, and they married February 4, 1965. They bought their ranch in Fruita, Colorado where they ran a successful sheep ranch for many years.

Gloria worked as a Pediatric Secretary at St. Mary’s Life Center for 29 years before retiring in 2013. She always had candy in her drawer for the children that came to the Life Center. Her job and friends at her workplace brought her much happiness.

Gloria was loved by all who met her. She loved dancing especially the Jitterbug, playing Pinochle and other games, red roses, and her family. She was a giver with a generous heart and had a story for every occasion. Gloria loved the finer things in life, especially her jewelry. She was the “movie star” mom who wore scarves, big sunglasses and a bouffant hairdo; she was the Elizabeth Taylor of the family.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Arrayet; parents, Wilson and Lola Stoner, and son-in-law, Tony Brach, Jr.

She is survived by daughters, Odette (Arrayet) Brach and Mary Arrayet; sisters, Lillian Etcheverry, Janesse Inda, and Janette Goizueta; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Victory Life Church, 2066 Highway 6 & 50 at 11:00 am, Friday, May 20, 2022.
